S�� <br /> AN ORDINANCE authorizing and providing for <br /> t�ie ssue o�. �8,000,000 Water Revenue Bonds <br /> of the City of Decatur, Macon County, Illi- <br /> nois, for the purpose of defraying the cost <br /> of improving the present waterworks system <br /> of said City, prescribing a11 the details of <br /> said bonds, and providing for the collection, <br /> segregation and distribution of the revenue <br /> of the waterworks system of said City for the <br /> purpose of paying the cost of the operation <br /> and maintenance thereof, providing an adequate <br /> depreciation fund therefor, and paying the <br /> principal and interest of said Water Revenue <br /> Bonds. <br /> � � � * <br /> W'�CEREAS it is deemed advisable, necessary and for the best <br /> interests of the City of Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, that its <br /> present municipally owned waterworks system be improved in order to <br /> provide additional potable water to meet the needs of the users of <br /> such system, such improvements to consist of the construction of an <br /> additional water treatment plant to be located on the west bank of <br /> Lake Decatur and approximately eight miles upstream from the existing <br /> treatment plant, such plant to ha.ve a nominal capacity of 12 MGD with <br /> a maximum capacity of 18 MGD and to include raw water intakes, site <br /> piping, filters, a raw water pumping statioo, including therein two <br />� 9000 gpm and one �+500 gpm water pumps, three high service pumps, two <br /> to be of 8250 �pm and one 6200 gpm, clarifying and softening facili- <br /> ties, filtration facilities, manholes, recarbonation basins, a <br /> 3,000,000 gallon clear well for the storage of treated water, a raw <br /> water return pumping station, including therein one 1250 gpm pump, <br /> four sludge lagoons for the disposal of sludge from the treatment <br /> plant and including all piping, motors, valves, connections, controls, <br /> wirin� and appurtenances incident thereto and necessary to make the <br /> same an integral part of the existing waterworks system, including <br /> necessary plant site preparation, grading and draining, and all in <br /> accordance with plans and specifications her�tofore approved by this <br /> Council and now on file in the o�fice of the City Clerk for public <br /> inspection; and <br /> WHEREAS the total esti�pated c+�st of such proposed improve- , <br /> ments and extensions as preparEd by t�e engineers is the sum of <br />
