RESOLUTION NO.R2017- 0 4 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS <br /> FOR NELSON PARK AMPHITHEATER DESIGN PROJECT <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur Park District and the City of Decatur, Illinois have expressed interest <br /> and designed preliminary plans for the improvement of Nelson Park and the Nelson Park Lakefront; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur Park District and the City of Decatur, Illinois have entered into <br /> Agreements relating to the parties joint interest and cooperation in making improvements to Nelson <br /> Park and the Nelson Park Lakefront; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the plans for improvement to Nelson Park and the Nelson Park Lakefront include <br /> the design and construction of an Amphitheater;and, <br /> WHEREAS, funding has been obtained for the construction of the amphitheater from a <br /> generous third party gift; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the only cost remaining for the Amphitheater is that necessary for the design of <br /> the Nelson Park Amphitheater for which the Decatur Park District has entered into a contract with <br /> Architectural Expressions LLP at a cost not to exceed Three Hundred Sixty-Three Thousand Four <br /> Hundred Dollars ($363,400.00). <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City of Decatur agrees to authorize the expenditure of funds in an amount <br /> not to exceed One Hundred Eighty-One Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($181,700.00) which <br /> represents fifty percent(50%) of the costs of the attached contract with Architectural Expressions LLP <br /> for the design of the Nelson Park Amphitheater. <br /> PRESENTED and ADOPTED this 17d'day of January,2017. <br /> Julie M ore Wolfe,IYCI <br /> Attest: <br /> a <br /> °l' V � l <br /> Debbie Bright, Clerk <br />
