RESOLUTION NO. R2017-_6 2 RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING -CITY COUNCIL POLICIES.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That those policies and procedures listed on Exhibit 1 hereto, entitled "City Council Policies, Roles and Responsibilities"be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as the policies and procedures of this Council, and shall continue as such until further action by Council. Section 2. That anything in the herein-adopted policies and procedures to the contrary notwithstanding, no action by this Council, whether by ordinance, resolution or otherwise, shall in any way be invalid or ineffective for failure to follow such policies and procedures, it being the intent hereof that the same are to be advisory in nature and not binding or mandatory, and any action taken by Council not in conformance herewith shall be construed as a variance or exception hereto, whether such is express or not.
