1. Ten(10)percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by Minority <br /> Business Enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available;and, <br /> 2. Eighteen(18)percent of the total hours worked should be performed by minority workers. <br /> Subcontracting is not a requirement for City Projects. Kinney Contractors will self-perform all the <br /> concrete bus shelter pad improvement work. <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> Following approval of the contract by the City Council,work on this project shall begin after a <br /> "Notice to Proceed"has been issued from the City. The DPTS Concrete Bus Shelter Pad <br /> Improvement Project is scheduled to be complete by November 2017. A final project report will be <br /> prepared for Council at the end of the project. <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: The project plans and specifications were approved by the Legal Department <br /> on August 8,2017. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Funding for this project is provided through a Federal Transit Administration <br /> grant given to the City of Decatur Public Transit System. The total contract amount is $64,816. <br /> Staff Impact: Staff time has been allocated for this project. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Public Transit System <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director; Matt Newell, City Engineer; and <br /> John Williams, Mass Transit Administrator.
