The project was advertised on August 9, 2017, and bids were opened on August 25, 2017. Kinney Contractors provided the lowest responsible bid at 21.23%below the engineer's estimate. An alternate bid was provided in case the bids were higher than the grant funding. Since the bid prices came in lower than estimated, it is proposed that the alternate bid items be awarded as part of this contract. Kinney Contractors has successfully completed many projects of this type for the City. Contractors for City Projects shall comply with City Code Chapter 28, Article 10, "Minority Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts."
