The City Plan Commission voted <br /> 8-0 to recommend approval of this petition at the August 3,2017 meeting;the minutes of the meeting are attached. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The subject site is approximately 1.1 acres and is located in the 1300 Blocks of North 22nd Street and North 21st Street. The <br /> subject site has structures located on a majority of the lots. <br /> The subject site is zoned B-2 Commercial District.The southern portion of one of the structures located on the subject site is zoned <br /> M-1 Intense Commercial/Light Industrial District. <br /> The petitioner proposes to rezone from B-2 Commercial District to M-1 Intense Commercial/Light Industrial District which would <br /> allow for all those uses permitted in the M-1 Intense Commercial/Light Industrial District. <br /> The surrounding zoning includes M-1 Intense Commercial/Light Industrial District to the south and west and M-2 Heavy <br /> Industrial District to the east as well as B-2 Commercial District to north and east.The Macon County and Decatur Comprehensive <br /> Plan shows this area as Heavy Commercial.
