There are a total of 69 <br /> signalized intersections which are 100%City owned. <br /> Letting Results <br /> The project scope and specifications were prepared by the Engineering Division and reviewed by <br /> the Illinois Department of Transportation. The project was advertised on August 9 and August 16, <br /> 2017, and bids were opened on August 23, 2017. The results of the letting are as follows (bid <br /> tabulation attached): <br /> Compared to <br /> Bidder Total Bid Price Engineer's Est. <br /> Over(Under) <br /> Traffic Control Corp. $67,108.50 (29.66%) <br /> Engineer's Estimate $95,400.00 ------ <br /> Two companies took out bid packages for the LED Traffic Signal Module Replacement Project, and <br /> one submitted a responsive bid. Traffic Control Corp. provided the lowest responsible bid at <br /> 29.66%below the engineer's estimate. The second firm did not submit a responsive bid. The <br /> modules typically sold by Traffic Control Corp. have been successfully used before. <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> After City Council approves, the contract will be sent to IDOT for approval. City staff will order its <br /> first shipment of LED modules which should arrive within 30 days after the order. Staff will then <br /> start installing them as time permits.
