Contractors for City projects shall make a good faith effort to comply with the following <br /> minimum goals: <br /> 1. Ten(10)percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by <br /> Minority Business Enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available; and, <br /> 2. Eighteen (18)percent of the total hours worked should be performed by minority <br /> workers. <br /> Subcontracting is not required for a City project. SAK sent solicitation for a subcontractor to <br /> perform televising and cleaning, bypass pumping, and traffic control. SAK received one <br /> response from Mid America Pipe Services based in St Louis, MO. Mid America Pipe services <br /> was not the most cost effective option and SAK elected to use Tele-Scan, a local non-MBE <br /> contractor to perform the work. This constitutes a good faith effort in meeting the City's <br /> minority business goals. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: The project plans and specifications were approved by the Legal <br /> Department on September 25, 2017. <br /> SCHEDULE: The project will begin when a Notice to Proceed has been issued and is to be <br /> completed March 1, 2018. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Funding for this project is allocated in the Sanitary Sewer Fund at$559,506.75 <br /> and Stormwater Fund at$129,424. <br /> The recommended low bid amount is $688,930.75.
