Item Coversheet Page 1 of 1 <br /> in <br /> Public Works <br /> DATE: 5/14/2018 <br /> MEMO: 2018-21 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason,City Manager <br /> Matthew C.Newell,Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Establishing Handicapped Parking Space at the Southernmost Parking Space Along the West Side of <br /> North Martin Luther King Jr Drive in the Parking Lane which ends 195 Feet North of the Centerline of East Marietta Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of a <br /> handicapped parking space near the front of 1001 North Martin Luther King Jr Drive as recommended by the Traffic&Parking <br /> Commission. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> April 26,2018-Traffic&Parking Commission approved a request from City staff recommending the installation of a <br /> handicapped parking space at the on-street parking space closest to 1001 North Martin Luther King Jr Drive,which was requested <br /> by the tenant,who resides at this location. In this area,there are public parking spaces located to the right of drivers.
