After he retired his city manager expertise was sought out by
other co..mmunities.and,even though he passed away,he remains a highly respected person
in:our community.
In addition to numerous honors as a city manager,Les was active in the community and
served countless volunteer hours. He was active at his church,Grace United Methodist
Church, the Decatur Salvation Army Corps,Habitat for Humanity,Rotary Club,Boy
Scouts,Golden Id's,YMCA board, and volunteered at Decatur Memorial Hospital for over
20 years.
I believe Leslie T.Allen's personal and private contributions to our community need to be
recognized in a public way.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me 217/422-9702.
Regards,
Z- 4.
Paul.Osbom6-.:
Editor*Publisher .
