3. The City's expectation of what will be required to demonstrate a Good ' Faith Effort. The City regards a good faith effort, at a minimum,will include direct contacts with MBE ' subcontractors for each subcontracting opportunity. The City expects to see 2-3 contacts for each opportunity until the goal is met. The bidder is to provide all work, all contacts, the method of contact(email,phone,personal, etc.), and the results of each contact. ' The bidders were reminded that the City can have no contact regarding the bid submittal after it has been provided, so their only opportunity is to provide evidence of their good faith efforts. ' For the benefit of the review that must be conducted by City staff, it is helpful in the contactors group the contacts according to the subcontracting opportunity. ' It was asked what happens if the total subcontracting opportunities totaled less than 10% of the contract. The bidders were told that a good-faith effort must be shown for all of their subcontracting opportunities regardless of how many opportunities there are. You do not have to ' subcontract any of the work if you can self-perform. It was pointed out to bidders that the MBE Subcontractor Information Form must be completed ' and signed by all parties prior to submitting the bid. IV. Other Items tGriffin Enyart pointed out that there were alternate streets included in this project. The City can choose which alternates it want to include in the final project and can even break alternate streets ' down by block depending on funding after the bids are submitted.
