The project was <br /> advertised on June 27, 2018 and July 4, 2018, and bids were opened on July 9, 2018. The results of <br /> the letting are as follows (bid tabulation attached): <br /> Bidder Bid Price Compared to Engineer's Est. <br /> Over Under <br /> Dunn Company $1,508,735.65 0.69% <br /> Engineer's Estimate $1,498,359.96 ------ <br /> Dunn Company and Feutz Contractors, Inc. took out bid packages for the Street Restoration Project <br /> and Dunn Company submitted the only bid. Dunn Company provided the lowest responsible bid at <br /> .69%above the engineer's estimate. The re-bid increased the project cost by approximately <br /> $263,000. All cost increases were attributed to the increased work and material specified that were <br /> left out of the previous bid that was rejected. The asphalt price is lower than typical mill and overlay <br /> projects due to the large quantities of asphalt on this project, all being used in a single location. Dunn <br /> Company has successfully completed many jobs of this type for the City. Following approval by the <br /> Mayor and City Council, the contracts and bid tabulation will be forwarded to the Illinois Department <br /> of Transportation for final approval in accordance with the rules governing the disbursement of State <br /> Motor Fuel Tax funds. <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> Following approval of the contract by the City Council the contracts will be forwarded to the Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation(IDOT) in Effingham for approval. Work on this project shall begin <br /> after a"Notice to Proceed"has been issued from the City. The Street Restoration project is <br /> scheduled to be complete by mid to late August. <br /> _2 — <br />
