Members Present: Danny White,Tony Clark,.loe Cycotte, Steve Olson,John Munson, and Mike McGeehan.Also present was Larry Ols�►n,who is recommended to City Council as a new member af the Bnard. StafF Present: Randy Johner,lasan Kretsinger Introductions:All pressr►t mtroduced themse�ves An overview of Gity Code Chapter 27 was given by Randy�ohrrer.This code establishes the Constructian and Hausing Board of Appeais Commission and expiains how appeals are heard and variances are given if agreed upo� by a ma�ority of rrtembers. An overview af changes fram the 20091nternational Building Cade{for cammercial buildin�sj to the 20�.5 version of this Code was given by Randy Johner. He also re�i�wed changes to City Code Chapter 6�7 which adapts the Building Ccade and de�ai{s any changes specific to Decatur. Jason Krefisinger gave an overview of changes fram the proposed Internationai Residential Building Cade to the 2015 ver$ion af this Cade. Ne aiso reviewed changes ta City Code Chapter 67.2 which adopts the Residentia! Bui(ding Cnde and details changes specific to Decatur. It uvas explained by R�ndy.fohner that both of these Codes were gaing ta be adopted "as is" with€ew changes specific to decatur which meant fihat it shc�uld be�asier for a contractor, developer, or architect ta design ar build in Decatur as they wouid nat need to alfier their plans to be compliant w"rth aur specific char�ges. It was alsa explained�hat the Coc1e Bt�oks had been presented to Cot�ncil fo�-reviewing and �Eing and that the neact step would be for the Counci[to vote an approving the adoption of these Codes. After sorne discussit�n abvut the propc�sed changes it was moved and sectrnded�Munson/C?1sor�} to recommend �pproval the adoption c�f City Codes 67 and 67.� as presented by stafF. Motian � carried unanimously.The recommendatiQn will be forwarded to the City Cduncil far consider�tion in canjunction other praposed building code updates.
