Many af the mutucipalities will be adopting the 2015 ar even the 201$version af these codes this year. By updating ours we <br /> will be aligned with the other co�rmiunities. <br /> The language for actual adoption af these codes as well as any additions,deletians,or a�nduients that are specific to Decahu <br /> are showtt in our City Code Chapters 44,67,67.2,6$,69,and 70(copies of which are attached). We have eliminated mast <br /> changes that were done the last tirne we adopted new cades. This time we are for the most part adopting those cades"as is" <br /> without many alterations.This will be easier far building designers,cantractors and property owners to navigate through when <br /> determining requirements for building in our jurisdiction. <br /> One significant xequirement that was added to the Residential Building Cade beginning in 2009 was for new singte-family homes <br /> to have sprinklers installed.As with all other carnmunities in downstate Illinois,we elected to delete that requirement and will <br /> continue to da so untii such ti�when it becames mare feasible for builders to ir�iude in an already tight 2�using market or if it <br /> is mandated by State Law. <br /> The gaal of these cades and their enforce�nt is to create axxi�intain a safe environment for aur citiz��in their homes, <br /> warkplace,and ather public buildings.
