� � N • ai�' o • gi - � � �� INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT CIT 4F DECATUR and MACCIN COUNTY COSTS and MAINTENANCE of YRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE5 THlS INTERGQVERNMENTA�AGREEMENT{"Agreemer�t"} betweer�the County of Macon,a body politic and corporate duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of Illinois("County"j, and the City of Decatur, a municipal corparation duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of lilinois("City"},collectively,the"Parties",WITNESSETH: WHEREAS,Articie Vil,Section 1d of the 111inois Constitution of 1970, and the lntergovernmental Cooperation Act, 5 ILCS 220J2 et seq, authorize units of local government to contract between themselves ta exercise and/or combine functions either of them are autharized by law to perform, and WHEREAS,The City of Decatur mainfiains numerous traffic control devices within the corporate limits of the Gity, and WHEREAS,the County of Macon maintains traffic control devices lacated on Caunty streets and highways located within the City of Decatur, and WNEREAS,The City of Decatur is wiliing to maintain traffic contro) devices located on County streets and highways in the City of Decatur,and WHEREAS,The County of Macon is willing to reimburse the City of Qecatur the reasonable costs of maintaining traffic control devices lacated on Caunty streets and highways in the City of pecatur,and WHEREAS,The Decatur City Council and the Macon County Baard believe it wil! benefit the health, safety,and welfare of the residents of the City af Decatur and Macan County ta consolidate maintenance of certain traffic contra( devices located in the City of Decatur. NOW THEREFORE, in consideratian of the mutual cavenants stated in this Agreement,the Parties agree as follows: 1. The C"sty of Decatur agrees to maintain the traffic control devices identified in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and incorporated by reference. 2. The County of Macon agrees to reimburse the reasonable casts of maintaining the traffic control devices identified in EXH161T A attached hereto.
