ADDITIONS AND <br /> CHAPTER 73 <br /> - OFFENSES— <br /> 24. POSSESSION/CONSUMPTION CANNABIS. <br /> A. It shall be unlawful for a person to possess thirty (30) grams or less of any substance <br /> containing cannabis. This subsection 24(A) shall be re�ealed on January 1, 2020. <br /> B. DEFINITIONS. <br /> 1. For purposes of this Section, cannabis includes marijuana, hashish and <br /> other substances which are identified as including any parts of the plant Cannabis <br /> Sativa and includin�derivatives or subspecies such as indica, of all strains of <br /> cannabis ,whether growing or not; the seeds thereof; the resin extracted from any <br /> part of such plant; and any compound, manufacture, salt, derivative,mixture or <br /> preparation of the plant its seeds, or resin, includin t�etrohydrocannabinol (THC) <br /> and all other cannabinol derivatives, including its naturally occurring or <br /> synthetically produced ingredients,whether produced directly or indirectly by <br /> extraction, or independently by means of chemical synthesis or by a combination <br /> of extraction and chemical synthesis; but shall not include the mature stalks of <br /> such plant, fiber produced from such stalks, oil or cake made from the seeds of <br /> such plant, any other compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture or <br /> preparation of such mature stalks(except the resin extracted there from), fiber, oil <br /> or cake, or the sterilized seed of such plant which is incapable of germination. <br /> Cannabis does not include industrial hemp as defined and authorized under the <br /> Illinois Industrial Hemp Act Cannabis also means concentrate and cannabis- <br /> infused products. <br /> 2 For purposes of this Section public place means an�place where a <br /> person could reasonably be ex�ected to be observed bv others, includin�but not <br /> limited to all parts of buildings owned in whole or in part, or leased, bv the State <br /> or unit of local ¢overnment and tobacco or cannabis stores or loun�es. Public <br /> place does not include a�rivate residence unless the private residence is used to <br /> provide licensed child care foster care or other similar social service care on the <br /> premises but does include retail tobacco stores. <br /> 3 For pur�oses of this Section retail tobacco stores means a retail <br /> establishment that derives more than 80%of its �ross revenue from the sale of <br /> loose tobacco plants or herbs and ci ar� s ci arg ettes pipes and other smokin� <br /> devices for burnin�tobacco and related smokin�accessories and in which the sale <br /> of other�roducts is merely incidentaL It includes an enclosed workplace that <br /> manufactures imports or distributes tobacco or tobacco products, when, as a <br /> necessarYand inte r�al part of the process of makin� manufacturin�, importin�, or <br /> distributin�a tobacco product for the eventual retail sale of that tobacco or <br /> tobacco product tobacco is heated burned or smoked or a li�hted tobacco <br />
