Zientara,City Treasurer&Director of Finance <br /> BACKGROUND: The city has been absorbing bank fees charged when customers make check-writing errors and when they <br /> write checks that are returned for insufficient funds. This is not fair. Citizens of Decatur who properly manage their accounts and <br /> pay their bills on time should not subsidize the NSF and other bank fees of those customers who write bad checks.
