DATE: 08/28/2020 <br /> MEMO: 20-10 <br /> TO: The Honorable,Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe <br /> Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton,City Manager <br /> James E.Getz Jr.,Chief of Police <br /> James Edwards, IT Director <br /> SUBJECT: The purpose of this memorandum is to request the expenditure of funds to PRESIDIO and <br /> CDW-G for primary and secondary data storage. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It would be the recommendation of staff that the bid from <br /> PRESIDIO totaling$88,545.88 and the bid from CDW-G totaling$9,420.52,for a combined total cost of <br /> $97,966.40 be paid. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Decatur Police Department will implement Body Worn Cameras (BWCs) to <br /> officers in 2020. The deployment of BWCs will increase the data storage needed to handle the number of <br /> videos produced,and to meet the state statue for video retention.It is estimated that 20OTB of useable space <br /> will fulfill the storage needs for 5 years. This request is for 20OTB of useable space at the primary storage <br /> layer and 20OTB of usable space at the secondary storage layer which will provide 100%data protection. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: There has been no prior Council action related to this request.
