E., Public Works Director SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing an Agreement with Jimmie Soules Bird Repelent Company for Downtown Bird Control SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by City staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement between the City and Jimmie Soules Bird Repelent Company for the control of birds in downtown Decatur for a period of three years beginning October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2023 for an amount not to exceed$75,000.00. PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: • September 30, 2002 — City Council approved Resolution R2002-188, authorizing Agreement with Soules Bird Repelent Company of Decatur, Illinois, for Bird Control Services in the Central Business District for a period ending September 30, 2005. • September 6, 2005 — City Council approved Resolution R2005-120, authorizing Agreement with Soules Bird Repelent Company of Decatur, Illinois, for Bird Control Services in the Central Business District for a period ending September 30, 2008. • October 20, 2008 — City Council approved Resolution R2008-177, authorizing Agreement with Soules Bird Repelent Company of Decatur, Illinois, for Bird Control Services in the Central Business District for a period ending September 30, 2011. • September 6, 2011 — City Council approved Resolution R2011-145 authorizing Agreement with Soules Bird Repelent Company of Decatur, Illinois, for Bird Control Services in the Central Business District for a period ending September 30, 2014. • September 29, 2014 — City Council approved Resolution R2014-119 authorizing Agreement with Soules Bird Repelent Company of Decatur, Illinois, for Bird
