The fees are $500 per terminal per <br /> year. This is in addition to the liquor license the establishment is required to <br /> obtain and maintain in order to have the privilege of video gaming. <br /> State law does allow the City to license terminal operators which are <br /> defined as the individual, partnership, corporation, or limited liability company <br /> that owns, services, and maintains VGTs for placement in establishments. The <br /> City does not currently license terminal operators. While the State does allow for <br /> the City to license terminal operators, the State did issue a prohibition of terminal <br /> operators assisting establishments with the payment of license fees, disallowing <br /> the splitting the fees. <br /> The City has a few options to consider if it chooses to license terminal <br /> operators. One option would be to add a license fee for terminal operators <br /> similar to the current establishment license fees in Chapter 54.1. A second <br /> option would be to reduce the license fees for establishments and enact a license <br /> fee for terminal operators. A third option, which could be in conjunction with <br /> either of the above, would be to stay the establishment license fees in the same <br /> manner as the City did for liquor license fees due to the pandemic, with the <br /> knowledge that some establishments have already submitted their renewal and <br /> paid the fees. <br /> Amy M.
