' BLENDED FINELY DIVIDED MINERALS (BDE) <br /> Effective: April 1, 2021 <br /> Revise the second paragraph of Article 1010.01 of the Standard Specifications to read: <br /> "Different sources or types of finely divided minerals shall not be mixed or used alternately in <br /> the same item of construction, except as a blended finely divided mineral product according to <br /> Article 1010.06." <br /> Add the following article to Section 1010 of the Standard Specifications: <br /> "1010.06 Blended Finely Divided Minerals. Blended finely divided minerals shall be the <br /> product resulting from the blending or intergrinding of two or three finely divided minerals. <br /> Blended finely divided minerals shall be according to ASTM C 1697, except as follows. <br /> ' (a) Blending shall be accomplished by mechanically or pneumatically intermixing the <br /> constituent finely divided minerals into a uniform mixture that is then discharged into a silo <br /> for storage or tanker for transportation. <br /> (b) The blended finely divided mineral product will be classified according to its predominant <br /> constituent or the manufacturer's designation and shall meet the chemical requirements <br /> of its classification. The other finely divided mineral constituent(s) will not be required to <br /> conform to their individual standards." <br /> 80436 <br />
