Required resolutions,certifications and <br /> other documents in support of this grant request are attached and are considered a part of this application. <br /> A Project Description(attach additional pages if necessary) <br /> The City of Decatur is applying for funding for projects in support of the expansion,operating,and <br /> administration of the transit system.All projects support the necessary functions to run and maintain the <br /> transit system as well as to expand our services.All projects involve property and equipment owned by <br /> the City of Decatur.The City of Decatur seeks funding to procure five microbuses for a small microtransit <br /> fleet.In addition to the five microtransit vehicles,we also seek to procure four hybrid replacement buses <br /> to replace four(4)2010 35' low-floor,heavy-duty diesel buses(non-hybrid)that are beyond their useful <br /> life.For improvements to the facilities,the City of Decatur seeks funding for repairs and updates to the <br /> interior and exterior of the Transit facilities.Interior repairs and updates include the purchase of new <br /> office furniture,dispatch office remodeling,resurface and epoxy to the Maintenance garage floor,and <br /> bathroom updates.Exterior repairs and updates include the addition of a new bus/carport shelter with <br /> electrical infrastructure for charging hybrid vehicles,window repairs or replacements,painting,adding <br /> benches and planters to the bus bay for additional security, improving access ramps to adjacent sidewalks, <br /> additional parking lot repairs,and landscaping.The City also wishes to make needed ADA sidewalk <br /> repairs to bus stops City-wide in order to increase accessibility and access to our residents.The City <br /> intends to make technology improvements that include great public WIFI access,creating an <br /> announcement system for hearing or visually impaired passengers,and purchasing internal and external <br /> commercial monitors for live tracking and planning software.Additionally,the City requests funding for <br /> the purchase of equipment.The City plans to purchase additional bus shelters and back-up generators for <br /> both facilities,which involves electrical updates to support the generators.The City of Decatur Transit <br /> System is unique in the fact that we are a function of the City Government,housed in the division of the <br /> City Management.The City of Decatur is a full-service municipal government with in house services <br /> providing adequate technical,legal,and financial support to undertake the various projects.City receives <br /> the support of public works,legal counsel,IT services,and financial guidance from City Departments. <br /> B.
