Community Kitchen of Pittsburgh and Propel Kitchens in St. Louis <br /> Mr. Maciak is the founder and development consultant for two community kitchens in the U.S. <br /> Community kitchens operate primarily as a culinary workforce training program, partnering with <br /> regional workforce development intermediaries,to recruit and train individuals in a'Work <br /> Integration Social Enterprise'that deploys a market-based approach for workforce development <br /> and labor market integration.This social enterprise model offers employment and training <br /> opportunities as well as bridges into the mainstream labor market for individuals facing barriers <br /> to employment.Mr. Maciak has also organized and launched two social enterprise subsidiaries of <br /> Propel Kitchen that create jobs and equity opportunities in the food security ecosystem for�Iack <br /> and brown plant-bashed entrepreneurs, <br /> St. Louis Promise Zone <br /> Mr. Maciak served as the workforce development subject matter expert for Econometric, Inc.,a <br /> HUD certified technical assistance provider that was contracted to conduct a Workforce <br /> Development Gap Analysis and Strategic Plan for the St. Louis Promise Zone.Mr. Maciak provided <br /> the process-driven systems approach that became the foundation model for the engagement. <br /> Duquesne University <br /> Mr.Maciak was the developer and manager of the Institute for Economic Transformation at <br /> Duquesne University.He served under contract as the Executive Director of the Institute for <br /> seventeen years while also managing WIN.The Institute gained numerous awards for innovation <br /> in executive education,corporate training,supply chain and workforce development initiatives. <br /> A Philip Randolph Institute <br /> WIN was the strategic and management consultant for three initiatives developed by the Institute <br /> to increase the number of minorities in the construction trades. Mr. Maciak led the engagements <br /> that expanded Breaking the Chains of Poverty and implemented and managed the Green Jobs <br /> Initiatives and the Workforce Clearinghouse. <br /> Dollar Energy Fund <br /> Mr. Maciak was a founding board member of Dollar Energy the fourth largest'fuel fund' in the <br /> U.S. DEF was created in 1983 with a mission to provide utility assistance to low-income families <br /> experiencing hardships throughout South Western PA. Mr.Maciak served on the DEF board 6f <br /> directors for ten years.Five years after he left the board,WIN was engaged by DEF to identify <br /> opportunities to train, employ and create sustainable career pathways for low-income clients <br /> served by DEF.Mr Maciak led the WIN team in identifying,designing and implementing a <br /> Customer Service trading program for DEF clients,establishing a social enterprise within DEF to <br /> provide customer service support to other utility fuel funds around the U.S.and,create 120 call <br /> centerjobs. <br /> Innovative Design Edge,LLC <br /> Erica Henderson,owner/principal of Innovative Design Edge, LLC has built credibility amongst residents, <br /> corporate leaders,community organizers,educational institutions, non-profits and civic leaders through a variety <br /> of engagements.She has led numerous projects and initiatives that have built regional capacity for achieving <br /> equitable and sustainable development at both the programmatic and public policy level.Additionally,she has <br /> facilitated and conveyed regional workforce development partners around advancing workforce readiness.A few <br /> examples of her work in this field include: <br /> Accenture-My Path, My Future <br /> This public private partnership is designed to put families on a path towards achieving economic <br /> success. The intentionality around equitable workforce opportunities and expanding access to <br /> education, training and employment in the Promise Zone footprint is critical to transforming our <br /> region and having a substantive, generational and economic impact.
