Loading Space Requirements <br /> 6. Adequate access required. <br /> Each loading space shall be served by appropriate means of vehicular <br /> access to a street or alley in a manner which will not require backing or <br /> other traffic movements on a public street. A request for alternative <br /> compliance may be approved by the Public Works Department if a <br /> practical hardship or difficulty exists that hinders the ability to <br /> design/redesign the development so as to provide adequate access to <br /> loading areas. The Public Works Department will base its decision for <br /> alternative compliance on the effect of the backing maneuver on traffic <br /> flow, the frequency and size of trucks, the use of the road and the <br /> structure of the road. <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur City Plan Commission did report its findings and did <br /> recommend that said petition be granted and that the Zoning Ordinance be so modified <br /> and amended. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the report and recommendations of the Decatur City Plan <br /> Commission be, and the same are hereby, received, placed on file and approved. <br /> Section 2. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Decatur be, and the same is <br /> hereby, amended and modified at Sections XVI. and XXIV. as set forth above. <br /> Section 3. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to <br /> cause this ordinance to be published in pamphlet form. <br />
