There is a Return Water Pump Station at the lagoons that enables water to be recycled from <br /> the lagoons to the South Water Treatment Plant. The station's water pump is around 50 years old,long past its dependable service <br /> life,and failed to operate earlier this year. In order to replace the pump,the station's 50 year old skylight,which is the access <br /> hatch to the pump,is also long past its dependable service life,and has to be removed and replaced with a new skylight. <br /> It has been difficult to obtain quotes from contractors due to labor supply and supply chain issues. Quotes were received from two <br /> contractors: <br /> Contractor Quote <br /> Bodine Electric of Decatur $48,798.68 <br /> Alltech Electric $85,518.00 <br /> City staff recommends that these improvements be awarded to Bodine Electric of Decatur as they provided the lowest cost <br /> quotation and have completed many successful project for the City over the past several decades. The quote is attached. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: None. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None foreseen. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> None. <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: <br /> Documents for this project were forwarded to Legal for review on June 3,2022. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell,Public Works Director,424-2747.Keith Alexander,Water Production Manager,424-2863. <br /> Matt will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> This expenditure will be funded from the Public Works Water Capital Fund 81.
