effective for six months from the date of the first posting of the personnel memorandum. A new <br /> list will be established during the six month period only if too few officers have requested transfer <br /> on the current list to fill immediate vacancies. <br /> Section 5. Not less than two nor more than ten uniform patrol units may be utilized as <br /> "early cars,"as outlined in Section 1.Officers may volunteer to be an early car or it will be assigned <br /> by inverse seniority. <br /> Section 6. The Chief of Police may organize the Criminal Investigations Bureau of the <br /> Police Service such that the officers assigned thereto are required to report to duty at hours and on <br /> days different from those in effect for uniform patrol officers. The Chief of Police, in so doing, <br /> shall assign each such employee a regular duty schedule consisting of five consecutive eight hour <br /> days, such schedule being either Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday <br /> through Saturday, with hours to be determined by the Chief of Police.No such employee shall be <br /> required to report to duty,other than for emergency call in purposes, earlier than 7:00 a.m.or later <br /> than 4:00 p.m., or as otherwise agreed to by the Chief of Police and the officers involved. <br /> Section 7. Authorized overtime served by employees in the classified police service <br /> shall be paid subject to the following conditions and exceptions: <br /> (a). The department may make rules not in conflict with this agreement regarding <br /> Overtime. <br /> (b). Overtime authorized for training shall be paid for at one and one half the regular <br /> rate of pay of the respective employee. Officers shall be reimbursed for travel, lodging,meals and <br /> other justified expenses for training outside Macon County in accordance with the practice in effect <br /> as of May 1, 1997. <br /> (c). An employee called to duty, as distinguished from an employee who is held over <br /> beyond the quitting time of his regular shift, shall receive overtime pay for the authorized time <br /> actually served but for not less than a minimum of two hours. When an employee is required to <br /> report for duty one hour or less prior to the time his/her regularly scheduled shift commences, <br /> he/she will be paid time and one-half for only the actual time worked prior to commencing his/her <br /> regular shift. <br /> (d). Overtime shall accrue and be computed in increments of one-tenth hour and shall <br /> be subject to department rules.Time recorded within a one-tenth hour increment which is three(3) <br /> minutes or less shall relate back to the last full one-tenth hour mark; time recorded within a one- <br /> tenth hour increment which is four (4) minutes or more shall relate forward to the next full one- <br /> tenth hour mark.That is, if any employee works three(3)minutes or less of overtime,no overtime <br /> shall be recorded as having been worked;whereas if the employee works four(4)minutes through <br /> nine (9)minutes of overtime,he will be recorded as having worked one-tenth hour of overtime. <br /> (e). When an employee is required to attend court commencing at a time other than <br /> during his regular shift, said employee shall be paid overtime not less than two hours per day,such <br /> overtime to be paid at time and one-half the regular rate of pay of the respective employee for time <br /> 5 <br />
