-0
Clinic Build out Remodel Section 1
ECM-1 Heating and Building Controls Upgrade
The Air supply from the air handling unit is distributed through secondary branch ductwork with Fan
Powered Variable Air Volume(FPVAV)boxes with reheat coils. The new clinic section does not have a
source of controllable heat to the new spaces. The new Clinic area does not have any building control
system installed. It is our recommendation that new VAV boxes with hot water reheat coils be installed
which would provide for the proper control of supply air, improve comfort for all spaces, improve
dehumidification and reduce fan energy by slowing down the fans during low load conditions. It is also
recommended that room thermostats be installed in order to control temperature to the spaces. The
thermostats along with the VAV boxes will be integrated into the existing building automation system
along with graphics to monitor and control operations.By making the upgrades to the system, you will be
able to properly control space temperature, provided a consistent design as the rest of the Library building
and not compromise the efficiency and performance of existing areas in the building.
Recommendations
1) Install new VAV boxes with reheat coil,VAV-Re Heat(VAV-RH)boxes.
2) Reconfigure Ductwork serving VAV boxes to improve air flow and zone control
3) Install new piping and extend to new VAV boxes including new valves and DDC controls
4) Install new ductwork and transitions for the New VAV boxes and connect to the new supply duct
branches.
5) Install transition ductwork from existing ductwork to the round inlet and VAV-RH outlet to the existing
ductwork.
6) Make new connection to existing hot water supply&return piping and extend to new reheat coil with
new balance valve, control valve, shut off valves and vents.
7) Provide lifts for installation of VAV boxes and replace all damaged ceiling tile.
8) Install new DDC controllers on each VAV box including thermostat, programming and wiring.
9) Provide air&water balancing for each new VAV-RH box.
10) Provide As built drawings for project
Scope of Work
1) Provide VAV Boxes to Mechanical Contractor for installation.
2) VAV Boxes to include factory installed controls. Includes VAV-1,VAV-2,FPVAV-3,VAV-4,VAV-5 thru
VAV 10
3) Provide VAV Reheat Coil control valves to Mechanical Contractor for installation
4) Provide and install temperature Controls for ten(10)VAV boxes including new thermostats,
transformers, controllers and associated low voltage wiring. Note:no thermostat for air valves, these
will be set for constant volume airflow.
5) Install network bus to communicate all available points to the BAS including graphics.
6) Provide field time to assist air balancer for balancing of each VAV box.
7) Provide startup and validation of all points
®2022 Johnson Controls,Inc.—Do not copy(physically,electronically,Or in any
other media)without the express written permission of Johnson Controls,Inc,
