EXHIBIT A: PROPOSED SCOPE <br /> P <br /> i <br /> I' <br /> MANAGEMENT APPROACH <br /> PROJECT MANAGEMENT <br /> Bowen has a proven management style that focuses around the client.We direct our <br /> team,on a daily basis,to work the project,solve the critical issues and keep the client <br /> informed at all times.We believe in meeting face to face with the client as often as pos- <br /> sible in order to convey and share information.Our philosophy also involves being on site <br /> often during the construction of the building to ensure that the project is being built per <br /> the Contract Documents. <br /> SCHEDULE CONTROL <br /> Our recent experience in projects similar to this one give us the recent and relevant expe- <br /> rience needed to keep the project on schedule.We have been,and will continue to be a <br /> team player to ensure that all goals and deadlines are met throughout the design process. <br /> BUDGET CONTROL <br /> We will do a budget check at the end of each design phase.Only through this method <br /> can we ensure that the project is within budget.If for some reason we find that the project <br /> is falling out of budget,we will perform an analysis to determine why,and what methods <br /> might be employed to bring it back.We understand that if the project is not within budget, <br /> the project cannot move forward.We will collaborate with you throughout the entire <br /> design process to ensure that the design meets the budget. <br /> SUSTAINABILITY AND LEED <br /> Many members of the Bowen Team are LEED-Accredited Professionals,and every <br /> team member has worked on LEED projects in the recent past.The Bowen Team views <br /> sustainability as more than just points on a score card,or credits for the USGBC.We view <br /> sustainable design as both the Architects and Engineers professional obligation to do as <br /> much as we can,within the project's budget,provide a safe,clean and sustainable work <br /> environment all of the buildings'users for decades to come. <br /> QUALITY CONTROL <br /> The art of putting together a great set of Construction Documents is not easy.It takes the <br /> will and dedication of the entire Design Team from the very first meeting until the project <br /> goes out for bid.We understand that the last thing you want is to have a multitude of <br /> change orders during construction.We don't want that either.Our Quality Control process <br /> focuses on six principals that lead to positive outcome. <br /> PROPOSAL FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES I DECATUR TRANSIT MASTER PLAN Bowen <br /> CI TY OF DECATUR,ILLINOIS 9 <br />
