Brandel,Chief of Police <br /> SUBJECT: The purpose of this memorandum is to request the expenditure of funds for the renewal of GrayKey license. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of staff to authorize the renewal and payment of the Graykey <br /> license. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In the field of digital forensics,mobile devices often contain critical'information. Accessing data from various devices is crucial in criminal investigations. <br /> GrayKey provides the most comprehensive iOS and modern Android device support allowing the full content to be extracted. GrayKey also integrates easily <br /> with other forensic analysis products utilized by the Department. By doing this,GrayKey allows the Decatur Police Department to obtain a more complete <br /> and detailed data extraction giving our Criminal Investigations Division access to critical evidence. <br /> GrayKey is necessary to resolve critical investigations quickly and enhance public safety in Decatur. The annual renewal <br /> license for GrayKey-Premier Unlimited iOS and Android extractions with two(2)devices is $45,995.00.
