The estimated cost <br /> is identified as$107,600 with a provision to provide the additional funds necessary to cover the actual costs. IDOT policy <br /> limits costs relating to traffic signals not to exceed 125%of the estimated cost,but that policy does not apply to the remaining <br /> portions of the project. The City proposes to use$119,060 in State Motor Fuel Tax funds to pay for its share of the traffic <br /> signal improvements,paving and curb modifications. This cost includes the 125%max traffic signal costs. <br /> 2. Clause 5 relates to the City's requirement for no parking on IL 121. City Code Chapter 34, Section 32 covers the <br /> requirements in this section. <br /> 3. Clause 6 relates to the storm water ordinance put in place by the City to prohibit the discharge of sanitary waste in the <br /> storm sewer system. <br /> 4. Clause 7 relates to regulating encroachments on the public right-of-way <br /> 5. Clause 9 through Clause 11 relates to utilities in the right-of-way and utility relocation requirements. There are no utility <br /> relocations expected on this project. <br /> 6. Clause 12 Clause 15 outline the maintenance responsibilities of the City and the State for the roadway and other items <br /> within the right of way,including storm sewers,sidewalks and traffic signals. This language is similar to previous City-State <br /> agreements entered into for IL 121. <br /> The final plans are on file at the Public Works Department. The final plans will be approved by the Public Works Department prior <br /> to bidding by the State. <br /> SCHEDULE: It is anticipated that work will begin early summer with final completion in 2024. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: There have been no prior Council actions on this item. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Illinois Department of Transportation <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell,Public Works Director,Paul Caswell,City Engineer.Matt Newell will be in attendance at <br /> the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Operating Funds: Funding for the proposed project will be$119,060 from State MFT funds. It is anticipated that <br /> $25,000 will be reimbursed by the Grade Crossing Protection Fund. The project also includes$5,175 for replacement of the traffic <br /> signals at the Macon County owned Lost Bridge intersection. The cost of this work will be reimbursed by the County per the <br /> traffic signal maintenance agreement. <br /> Staffing Impact: The Illinois Department of Transportation will manage this project.
