City Clerk <br /> DATE: 2/27/2023 <br /> MEMO: <br /> TO: Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe <br /> City Council Members <br /> FROM: Jon Kindseth,Deputy City Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending City Code Chapter 52 -Alcoholic Liquor <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff,on behalf of the Local Liquor Control Commissioner,requests that Council pass <br /> the proposed amendment regarding Chapter 52, Section 4,related to the Class E liquor license classification. <br /> BACKGROUND: Staff has received a request from Millikin University to allow for the sale of alcoholic liquor at <br /> sporting/athletic events. Currently,Aramark Educational Services,LLC.,a licensed food service company holds the liquor <br /> license for Millikin University. The City Code allows a licensed food service company to sell alcoholic liquor for purposes <br /> related to theatre and cultural events at an accredited institution of higher learning.
