MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> DECATUR PLANNING COMMSSION <br /> THURSDAY, MARCH 2, 2023 <br /> City Council Chambers, Decatur Civic Center <br /> 1. Call to Order and Determination of a Quorum <br /> The March 2, 2023 meeting of the Decatur Plan Commission was called to order by Chairperson <br /> Peck at 3:00 P.M. in the City Council Chamber, Third Floor of the Decatur Civic Center, at which <br /> time a quorum was present. <br /> Members Present: Jason Drake, Pat McDaniel, Matt Naber, Maurice Payne,James <br /> Schwarz,Andrew Taylor,Timothy Wright, Susie Peck <br /> Members Absent: Kent Newton, Vacancy <br /> Staff Present: David Silver,Joselyn Stewart, Kasey Wright, Cordaryl Patrick <br /> II. Approval of Minutes of the November 3rd, 2022 City Plan Commission Meeting <br /> It was moved and seconded (McDaniel/Schwarz)to approve the minutes of the November 3, <br /> 2022 meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission Meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Ill. New Business <br /> A. Case No. 23-01 <br /> Petition of JOHN LEWIS to rezone the property at 888 <br /> SOUTH 16TH STREET from 0-1 Office District to PD Planned <br /> Development District <br /> Section XXIX of the City of Decatur Zoning Ordinance requires the Plan Commission to hold a <br /> public hearing on a rezoning request, and then forward its report and recommendation to the <br /> City Council for Final approval. It was moved and seconded (McDaniel/Wright) to forward Case <br /> No 23-01 to the City Council with a recommendation of approval as set forth in the staff report. <br /> Mr. Silver discussed the staff recommendation, noting specifically in the staff report the <br /> exclusion of animal clinic or hospital, automobile repair and service or repair, automobile <br /> service station and further, exclusion of licenses allowing liquor or gaming in this PD rezoning. <br />
