The project was broken into three constructible segments. Segment
Three included an overpass over Faries Parkway and NSRR at the intersection of Faries Parkway. Funding
for this third segment was obtained to complete final design and construction. Railroad coordination, utility
conflicts, two changes to the letting date, and an extended schedule led to additional scope of service items,
which are further described below.
Railroad Coordination and Updates
Roadway Design
Develop horizontal and vertical geometry for the design of the Illinois Central Railroad(ICRR)Maintenance
Road for the July 2021 letting.Revise horizontal and vertical geometry for the design of the ICRR
Maintenance Road,to accommodate the placement of the proposed Ameren l OD pole, for the January 2022
letting.
Prepare Roadway Plans
1) Prepare Existing Typical Section for ICRR Maintenance Road reconstruction design.
2) Prepare Proposed Typical Section for ICRR Maintenance Road reconstruction design. Update
proposed typical section for the ICRR maintenance road revised design to accommodate Ameren
pole IOD.
3) Prepare detail sheet for the ICRR maintenance road. Update the detail sheet for the ICRR
maintenance road revised design to accommodate Ameren pole l OD.
4) Modify design and sheets to the location of the jacking and bore pits under the ICRR and NSRR
tracks resulting from the permit reviews by the railroads.
Construction Phasing and Traffic Control
Following the preparation of the January 2021 PS&E,the traffic control will be revised to accommodate
phasing changes related to the revisions to the railroad jacking and boring pit locations.
Structural Design
The retaining wall W006 design will be revised to reflect the revised location of a proposed light pole to
maintain the required distance from the proposed Ameren electrical line.
1 Supplement 2 05/09/2023
