SA 2277 <br /> (a) Installation of new cantilever and standard automatic flashing light signals and <br /> gates with bells, controlled by constant warning time circuitry, equipped with an <br /> event recorder and a remote monitoring system, and designed for a minimum <br /> simultaneous preemption time of 27 seconds, by the Company. <br /> (b) Installation of a railroad interconnect cable from the railroad crossing controller <br /> unit inside the new railroad crossing signal bungalow to a junction box mounted <br /> on the outside of the new railroad crossing signal bungalow, by the Company. <br /> [Note:The junction box shall be securely locked with a padlock provided by the Company.] <br /> (c) Installation of a railroad interconnect cable from the junction box mounted on the <br /> outside of the new railroad crossing signal bungalow to the existing traffic signal <br /> controller unit inside the existing traffic signal control cabinet, by IDOT or its <br /> designee. <br /> [Note: The railroad interconnect cable shall be a three-conductor stranded #14 copper <br /> cable in a clear polyester binder, shielded with #36 AWG tinned copper braid with 85% <br /> coverage,and insulated with.016"polyethylene(black,blue,red). The jacket shall be black <br /> 0.045 PVC or polyethylene. Or, if that cable is no longer available,the alternative shall be <br /> a No. 16 AWG, 3 Pair Communication Cable, in accordance with Article 1076.04 of latest <br /> version of the Illinois Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and <br /> Bridge Construction.] <br /> (d) Rehabilitation of the highway approaches under the City's jurisdiction in order <br /> to widen the center median to accept a new standard signal/gate unit in the <br /> median, and to meet the minimum requirements of 92 Ill. Adm. Code 1535.204 <br /> (Exhibit C), by the City or its designee. <br /> (e) Renewal of the railroad advance warning pavement markings ("RXR"), stop bars, <br /> and cross-hatching on the highway approaches under the City's jurisdiction, in <br /> accordance with the minimum requirements of 92 Ill. Adm. Code 1535.310 <br /> (Exhibit C11) and the most current revision of the Manual on Uniform Traffic <br /> Control Devices (MUTCD), by the City or its designee. <br /> Section 3 The Company has provided a preliminary "order of magnitude" cost estimate <br /> (Exhibit 13)for the installation of automatic flashing light signals and gates and installation of <br /> a railroad interconnect cable from the railroad crossing controller unit inside the new railroad <br /> crossing signal bungalow to a junction box mounted on the outside of the new railroad <br /> crossing signal bungalow. The Company shall, upon issuance of a Commission Order, <br /> according to the requirements contained therein, prepare and submit duplicate copies of <br /> detailed drawings, detailed circuit plans, cost estimates and any required specifications for <br /> the proposed improvements for the approval of the Commission. The Company agrees that <br /> an appropriate time for the submission of plans should be ninety (90) days from the date of <br /> a Commission Order approving this Agreement. <br /> The City has completed plans, received IDOT approval, and received a bid of <br /> $83,000 (Exhibit 1311)for the median widening, grooving, and pavement marking applications <br /> on the crossing approaches under the City's jurisdiction. IDOT will pay 100%for the railroad <br /> interconnect cable and conduit from the junction box mounted on the outside of the new <br /> railroad crossing signal house to the traffic signal controller inside the traffic signal cabinet <br /> 2 <br />
