County. <br /> (2) Respond to any bites by animals capable of carrying rabies to humans <br /> or other animals,anywhere in Macon County. <br /> (3) Respond to injured animals, anywhere in Macon County outside City <br /> limits.Decatur Police Department will dispatch large injured wild animals in <br /> the city limits if they can be safely dispatched by firearm.If the animal cannot <br /> be safely dispatched by firearm a Warden will respond. In the event a Warden <br /> responds to dispatch an animal the Warden will dispose of the carcass. <br /> (4) Respond to wildlife that are alive and capable of carrying rabies in <br /> dwellings,anywhere in Macon County. <br /> (5) Assist emergency service workers (fire, police, ambulance, sheriff, <br /> etc.)when needed. <br /> D. Specifically, the County shall, during Fieldwork Operations business hours only, <br /> perform the following services within the corporate limits of the City: <br /> (1) Respond to domestic animals running at large, anywhere in Macon County. <br /> (2) Respond to welfare and/or humane investigations for violations of the Acts and/or <br /> Macon County Animal Control Ordinance and/or City Code,as provided herein. <br /> (3) Provide rabies vaccination enforcement and control. <br /> (4) Attend dangerous animal and vicious animal meetings. <br /> (5) Pick up and dispose of dead domestic animals,anywhere in Macon County. <br /> (6) Respond to violations under Section 17 of Chapter 47 and successor sections and <br /> chapters of the City Code, and issue citations and take other appropriate law <br /> enforcement actions as the situation properly requires as determined by the County <br /> designated supervisor of animal control. The County will not refuse to investigate <br /> when it is requested by the City. <br /> (7) Respond to injured domestic animal calls anywhere in Macon County. <br /> E. The County and the City may, at their discretion, negotiate and establish contracts <br /> with other entities for the use of the Animal Control facilities, crematory and/or the provision of <br /> animal control services,by such other entities, as they shall both determine to be in the best interests <br /> of public safety and community welfare. <br /> -3- <br />
