The roofing contract for the Library includes unit prices to replace damaged roofing insulation areas. The large 20%contingency for this project is provided to allow for unforeseen structural replacement that will be needed during the project. Advanced Commercial Flooring proposes to meet the MBE goal with a 10%minority supplier for this project. They intend adhere to the goal that 18%of total project hours be performed by minority workers. Decatur Public Library Landscaping Wall Replacement Base Bid Alternate 1 Christy-Foltz,Inc. $160,325 $57,757 Broeren Russo Builders,Inc. $350,000 $135,000 Four contractors took out bid packages and two submitted bids. Christy-Foltz,Inc.,provided the lowest responsible bid. Christy- Foltz has successfully completed projects of this type for the City. Staff recommends that the City Council approve a contract with Christy-Foltz to perform the Municipal Services Center Corridor Addition Project. Christy-Foltz proposes to meet the MBE goal with 10%minority subcontractors on this project. They intend adhere to the goal that 18%of total project hours be performed by minority workers. Prevailing Wages All of the projects will adhere to the prevailing wage requirements of the State of Illinois. SCHEDULE: The projects are planned to be completed summer of 2024. LEGAL REVIEW: The contracts were approved by the Legal Department. PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: April 3,2023—The City Council approved Resolution 2023-58 approving an agreement with Architectural Expressions,LLP,for $100,000 for the design and provide construction oversight for Municipal Services Center Improvements. April 3,2023—The City Council approved Resolution 2023-59 approving an agreement with Architectural Expressions,LLP,for $120,000 for the design and oversee construction for improvements to the Decatur Public Library. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None foreseen. STAFF REFERENCE: Jon Kindseth,Deputy City Manager,Matt Newell,Public Works Director,424-2747. Jon will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on these items. BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: This expenditure for these projects is included in Fund 45.
