Residential: Premises and buildings occupied by six or fewer living units, on
routes predominantly serving residential premises. Refuse and recyclables produced on
residential premises.
3. RULES AND REGULATIONS....
...B. Other provisions of this Chapter to the contrary notwithstanding, the City
Manager is further authorized to modify the terms and conditions of removal service for
licensees in residential areas specified by such officer, so long as such modifications do
not conflict with the terms and conditions stipulated herein....
7. CLEAN CONTAINERS. Garbage and recycling temporarily stored shall be kept
only in approved totes, carts, bins and containers kept clean and closed. All such totes,
carts, bins and containers shall be either sixty-four (64) or ninety-six (96) gallon wheeled
containers approved by or expressly provided by the City or by the assigned waste hauler
and labelled and used exclusively for the purpose of storing garbage or recyclables for
subsequent collection and transportation.
8. APPROVED CONTAINERS.
A. For basic removal service in residential single family, duplex, triplex,
fourplex, fiveplex and sixplex, approved containers for refuse other than landscape waste
are the following:
(a) Water-tight bulk containers as defined in Section 2 with attached
covers for commercial pickup.
(b) Water-tight bulk containers with attached covers for residential pickup
of either 64 or 96 gallons and meeting approved standards for automated or semi-
automated collection. Larger bulk containers may be leased from licensed refuse
haulers, purchased from licensed refuse haulers or purchased from an independent
source. Approved residential containers shall be provided by the assigned hauler
at no additional fee. Customers already possessing containers meeting the
requirements of this ordinance may continue to use them as provided herein, or
may request a container from their hauler, but their monthly fee will remain the
same as for all other similar customers. The cost of containers provided by the
haulers for basic service will be included in the monthly fee charged to all
customers. All containers provided by licensed haulers will remain the property of
the licensed hauler providing them....
C. Approved containers for recyclables are the following:
Water-tight bulk containers with attached covers for residential pickup of
either 64 gallons or 96 gallons and meeting approved standards for automated or
semi-automated collection. The totes, carts and containers for recyclables will be
provided by the assigned hauler, unless the customer already has suitable
containers meeting the requirements of this ordinance, and the cost of said
containers will be recovered in the base monthly fee charged to customers, as
provided herein. Customers may request a replacement of a privately-owned
container at no charge.
