CITY OF DECATUR SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE Calcium Chloride and Retarder will be paid for at the contract unit price for at each cubic yard - percent (CYP). Said unit price shall include the retarder and all costs to mix, deliver and unload the amended concrete mix to any location within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur as directed by the City's representative. Portland Cement will be paid for at the contract unit price per bag (94 pounds). Said unit price shall include the Portland Cement and all costs to mix, deliver and unload the amended concrete mix to any location within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur as directed by the City's representative. Dye will be paid for at the contract unit price per pound of dye used. Said unit price shall include the dye and all costs to mix the amended concrete mix to any location within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur as directed by the City's representative. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: 1. Quantities listed in the bid proposal are estimated. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease the estimated quantities and no adjustment will be made to the unit bid price as the result of an increase or decrease or decrease in the quantities. 2. Unit prices quoted shall be F.O.B. for delivery to any location within the City of Decatur corporate limits. 3. The Contractor shall deliver the specified concrete in the amount ordered, at the time specified, in a manner to coordinate with the City work crew's needs and to the location directed by the City's representative. 4. City will, as can reasonably be scheduled, consolidate orders to minimize the number of locations, travel time and distance for the Contractor. 5, The Contractor shall obtain the approval of the City Engineer for the mix design for each concrete class prior to delivery. in the event the mix design for a concrete class is changed, the Contractor shall obtain the approval of the City Engineer, The Contractor shall provide to the City's Municipal Services Manager and Water Services Manager the concrete plant operating schedule(s) including, at a minimum the following information: - Anticipated opening and closing dates for the plant. - Days of the week and hours for each day that deliveries can be made. 6. The Contractor shall advise the City's Municipal Services Manager and Water Services Manager prior to the temporary shutdown of the plant or other circumstances which may affect material availability. 7. The City will award a contract to the successful bidder to provide Portland Cement Concrete to the City beginning January 1, 2024 and ending December 31, 2024. 8, This contract shall terminate at 12:00 p.m., local time, December 31, 2024. 4
