CITY OF DECATUR <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> FOR <br /> PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE <br /> Calcium Chloride and Retarder will be paid for at the contract unit price for at each <br /> cubic yard - percent (CYP). Said unit price shall include the retarder and all costs to <br /> mix, deliver and unload the amended concrete mix to any location within the corporate <br /> limits of the City of Decatur as directed by the City's representative. <br /> Portland Cement will be paid for at the contract unit price per bag (94 pounds). Said <br /> unit price shall include the Portland Cement and all costs to mix, deliver and unload the <br /> amended concrete mix to any location within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur <br /> as directed by the City's representative. <br /> Dye will be paid for at the contract unit price per pound of dye used. Said unit price <br /> shall include the dye and all costs to mix the amended concrete mix to any location <br /> within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur as directed by the City's representative. <br /> SPECIAL CONDITIONS: <br /> 1. Quantities listed in the bid proposal are estimated. The City reserves the right to <br /> increase or decrease the estimated quantities and no adjustment will be made to <br /> the unit bid price as the result of an increase or decrease or decrease in the <br /> quantities. <br /> 2. Unit prices quoted shall be F.O.B. for delivery to any location within the City of <br /> Decatur corporate limits. <br /> 3. The Contractor shall deliver the specified concrete in the amount ordered, at the <br /> time specified, in a manner to coordinate with the City work crew's needs and to <br /> the location directed by the City's representative. <br /> 4. City will, as can reasonably be scheduled, consolidate orders to minimize the <br /> number of locations, travel time and distance for the Contractor. <br /> 5, The Contractor shall obtain the approval of the City Engineer for the mix design <br /> for each concrete class prior to delivery. in the event the mix design for a <br /> concrete class is changed, the Contractor shall obtain the approval of the City <br /> Engineer, The Contractor shall provide to the City's Municipal Services Manager <br /> and Water Services Manager the concrete plant operating schedule(s) including, <br /> at a minimum the following information: <br /> - Anticipated opening and closing dates for the plant. <br /> - Days of the week and hours for each day that deliveries can be made. <br /> 6. The Contractor shall advise the City's Municipal Services Manager and Water <br /> Services Manager prior to the temporary shutdown of the plant or other <br /> circumstances which may affect material availability. <br /> 7. The City will award a contract to the successful bidder to provide Portland <br /> Cement Concrete to the City beginning January 1, 2024 and ending December <br /> 31, 2024. <br /> 8, This contract shall terminate at 12:00 p.m., local time, December 31, 2024. <br /> 4 <br />
