farming operation has been informed they will have to accommodate the work and
space associated with this project. We ask that the contractor to coordinated with the
farming operation if the need arises and to practice safe practices if farming staff are
working in the vicinity.
8. How many access ramps may be constructed to access the lower elevations of the
interior? The plan calls for two permanent ramps to be constructed with culverts to
allow for water flow under them. Contractors may construct any further interior
access ramps as they see fit. Additional access ramps must not impede the flow of
water and must have a culvert underneath. Contractors do not have to remove any
additional properly constructed access ramps if they do not wish.
9. Do flow lines of the ditches have to follow the precise GPS locations? No. If all
the other concerns of distances from drivable berms (see question 4) are satisfied, the
contractor may deviate slightly. Precise lines of the ditches are not critical, but greater
attention should be paid to the elevation, depth, width, and slope of the ditches.
10. Prescribed Burn. The City intends to conduct a prescribed burn soon. If that burn
occurs before the deadline for bids, the City will send notification and bidders may
view the site post-burn by appointment.
11. Pipes. There is a selection of unused pipes from previous projects located near the
north gate. Contractors may use that pipe, free of cost, for culverts or for drainage
purposes.
6
