1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals set forth in the forgoing preamble are specifically <br /> incorporated into and made part of this Agreement as though fully set forth in this <br /> paragraph 1. <br /> 2. City of Provided Police Officers. The City shall assign two (2)police officers to the <br /> District beginning at the start of the 2024-25 school year to be assigned to the District's <br /> high schools,two (2)police officers to the District at the start of the 2024-25 school year <br /> to be assigned to the District's middle schools, and an additional one (1)police officer to <br /> the District beginning at the start of the 2024-2025 school year to be assigned at a school <br /> mutually agreed upon by the District and the City. Said assignments shall be for the period <br /> during the regular school year as determined by the District but typically mid-August <br /> through the end of May the following year for the purpose of providing security at its <br /> various facilities. Such officers shall work up to forty(40)hours per week in the schools <br /> of the District at times agreed upon between the City and the District. The District <br /> recognizes and acknowledges that the assigned officers will, from time to time, have <br /> duties,training and leaves as part of their duties of being a sworn police officer for the <br /> City that will take precedence over District duties and assignments and agree not to <br /> interfere with said duties,training and leaves.The police officers shall perform the duties <br /> and responsibilities while assigned and working in District facilities, as determined by the <br /> City and the District,with due diligence and to the best of their ability. From time to time <br /> the District may provide advice to the City relative to the performance of the assigned <br /> officers and their suitability for their assignment. <br /> 3. Employment Status.The police officers shall at all times be assigned to serve as police <br /> officers to the District and shall be subject to the command and control of the Chief of <br />
