EXHIBIT 1 <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Village of Forsyth ("Village") owns and operates a water works <br /> system; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, ("City") owns and operates a water <br /> works system; and, <br /> WHEREAS, both parties desire to enter into an Agreement to secure a supply of <br /> treated water from the system of either party during episodes occasioned by a <br /> temporary failure of either party's water works system or some part thereof, and to <br /> define the adjacent water service boundaries of both parties. <br /> For and in consideration of the promises and covenants respectively to be <br /> performed by the parties hereto, it is agreed by and between the Village of Forsyth, and <br /> the City of Decatur, Illinois, as follows: <br /> 1. That the term of this Agreement will be for a period of five (5) years <br /> commencing 2024. <br /> 2. That any extension or modification of either party's water systems shall <br /> be constructed in compliance with the established standards used by the Illinois <br /> Environmental Protection Agency for similar construction. <br /> 3. That no connection to either party's system for a water service or <br /> otherwise shall be made except by a plumber licensed by the State of Illinois or by <br /> the respective party's employees. <br /> 4. That both parties shall not furnish water service through their systems to any <br /> premises unless said premises are served by and connected with a properly installed and <br />
