City Plan Commission <br /> September 5,2024 <br /> Page 2 <br /> B. Case No. 24-20 Petition of FARES ALKABSH, to rezone the western portion of the <br /> property located at 2192 EAST WOOD STREET from R-3 Single Family Residence <br /> District to B-2 Commercial District. <br /> It was moved and seconded(Jim Schwarz/Matt Naber)to forward Case No. 24-20 to the City Council <br /> with a recommendation of approval as set forth in the staff report. <br /> Joselyn Stewart discussed staff's recommendation for approval of the petition based on the staff report <br /> distributed to the Plan Commission prior to the meeting (staff report is on file and is available for <br /> reviewing by request). <br /> Upon call of the roll, Commission members A.G Webber, Matt Naber, Bobby Garner, Jim Schwarz, <br /> Andrew Taylor, Josh Prasun,James Oliver, Susie Peck voted aye. Motion carried. <br /> IV. Appearance of Citizens <br /> No citizens expressed comments. <br /> V. Comments and Information from Commission Members <br /> Joselyn Stewart introduced Ms. Chanina Veal as the new Urban Land Use Planner Mrs. Stewart stated <br /> that Ms. Veal was from Detroit Michigan. <br /> Mrs. Stewart also mentioned that the City was hosting a street festival regarding regional <br /> transportation planning and would like your feedback on the future of transportation for our region. <br /> Join us for some fun and share your ideas on the future of transportation for our region! The DUATS <br /> Street Festival is Tuesday, September 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Decatur Public Library green <br /> space, on the corner of E. Prairie and M.L.K. Jr. Drive. If you are unable to make this date, please <br /> visit our website at www.decaturil.gov and fill out the survey form. <br /> VI. Adjournment <br /> There being no further business, it was moved and seconded(Bobby Garner/Josh Prasun)to adjourn <br /> the meeting. <br /> Upon call of the roll, Commission members A.G Webber, Matt Naber, Bobby Garner, Jim Schwarz, <br /> Andrew Taylor, Josh Prasun, James Oliver, Susie Peck voted aye. <br /> Chairwoman Susie Peck declared the meeting adjourned at 3:13 P.M. <br /> James Schwarz, Secretary, Decatur City Plan Commission <br />
