Historical Impact on the City: <br /> Dr. Ellis bridge gap between the Blacks and Low poverty whites by giving medical <br /> attention to those in needed it and accepted what ever the people could afford. <br /> In 1920 Dr. Ellis was not only a Doctor of Medicine but he took on the responsibility <br /> of making the Prince Hall Masons of Decatur a strong force that was <br /> respected, even during the years that the city was segregated. He became the <br /> President(Worshipful Master)in 1920-1921. <br />
