The
Council has consistently pursued this goal with ongoing watershed planning and monitoring, grant seeking, and
local funding of watershed improvement projects.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this resolution.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES:
The project was designed by Spheros Environmental.
STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, Public Works Director, Robert Weil,Water Production Manager,
Jennifer Gunter, Watershed and Lake Manager. Each project contributes to the larger
goal of protecting Lake Decatur from siltation and deferring future dredging expenses and impacts. Also, these
city-funded projects serve to attract significant grant funding from the state and federal governments.
Furthermore, the program continues to build credibility and momentum within the local agricultural community
for adoption of conservation efforts.
Staff Impact: Staff has allocated time to manage this project.
ATTACHMENTS:
1. 2026-33 Resolution Shackelford Trust Watershed Protection Agreement(3)
2. 2026-33 Project Location Map
