Council Memo <br /> Public Works Department <br /> No. 2026-39 <br /> DATE: 4/6/2026 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Melissa Hon, City Manager <br /> Matt Newell, Director of Public Works <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Resolution Accepting the Bid and Authorizing the Execution of a Contract with Dunn Company, A <br /> Division of Tyrolt, Inc. for 2026 Local Motor Fuel Tax Street Improvement Project, City Project 2026-25 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council approve the resolution <br /> awarding the contract for the 2026 Local Street Improvement Project. City Project 2026-25. to Dunn Company. <br /> A Division of Tyrolt. Inc. as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of S3.096.023.78 and that the Mayor <br /> be authorized to execute the contract and the City Clerk to attest. Attachments to the Resolution include all <br /> contract documents except for standard "boilerplate" language and project specific drawings and specifications, <br /> general conditions. and standard provisions, common to all City Contracts. Anyone wishing to review the full <br /> set of contract documents may obtain copies from the City Clerk. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Streets Inspected Annually <br /> The City typically inspects half of the city streets each year and uses the results of those inspections to develop <br /> a 5-year plan of proposed pavement projects. Staff uses a cost-benefit approach to prepare the 5-year plan. The <br /> proposed 5-year plan map and street list can be viewed by clicking HERE. <br /> Project Description <br /> This year's Street Improvement project combined the Local MFT for 2025 and 2026. The project includes mill <br /> and overlay work on various streets throughout the city. These roads show signs of surface fatigue due to age. <br /> The surface needs to be replaced before defects further degrade the road's base.
