Buffet Foundation to the Decatur Police Department <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It would be the recommendation of staff that the grant agreement <br /> presented as exhibit A awarding grant funding from the Howard G. Buffet Foundation to the Decatur Police <br /> Department be accepted and the City Manager or her designee be authorized to execute the agreement. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Howard G. Buffet Foundation awarded grant funding to Macon County Law Enforcement agencies, <br /> including the Decatur Police Department, for the purchase of specific equipment. The award to the Decatur <br /> Police Department was in the amount of$325,000.00, and was for the purchase of a mobile command response <br /> vehicle primarily dedicated to crisis negotiations. <br /> LEGAL REVIEW: Legal has reviewed the agreement. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> None <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None are anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Brad Allen, Chief of Police <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: No budget impact as this is a grant award. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> 1.
