Contractors for City Projects shall comply with City Code Chapter 28, Article 10, "Minority <br /> Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts." <br /> Contractors for City projects shall make a good faith effort to comply with the following minimum <br /> goals: <br /> 1. Ten(10)percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by <br /> Minority Business Enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available; and, <br /> 2. Eighteen (18)percent of the total hours worked should be performed by minority workers. <br /> Subcontracting is not required for a City project. Petersburg Plumbing and Excavating, LLC does <br /> not intend to use subcontractors for this project. <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> Work on this project will begin in June and is to be completed in August. It will take <br /> approximately 6-8 weeks for the check valves to be ordered, manufactured, delivered and <br /> installed. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Funding for this project is allocated in the Stormwater Fund. It is proposed that <br /> a total project expenditure of$55,250 be authorized. <br /> Staff Impact: City staff time has been allocated for this project. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Shive-Hattery Architecture and Engineering <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City Engineer. <br /> Rick Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the <br /> Council on this item. <br /> This memorandum was prepared by Matt Newell, P.E., City Engineer. <br /> Attach: 4 <br /> cc: Petersburg Plumbing & Excavating, LLC <br /> G A Rich& Sons, Inc. <br /> Burdick Plumbing & Heating Company, Inc. <br /> Entler Excavating Company, Inc. <br /> Page 13 <br />
