Macon County Board Resolution Approving Contract for Macon County Sheriff's Office and the City of Decatur Police Department For Dispatching Services RESOLUTION NO. G-4301-5-15 WHEREAS,the Macon County Sheriffs Office, is desirous of entering into a contractual agreement with the City of Decatur for obtaining well-trained and well- equipped telecommunication employees to provide communications and dispatching services for all Macon County Emergency Responders residing outside of the corporate limits of Decatur Illinois; and WHEREAS,the previous Communications and Records Services contract between the Macon County Sheriff's Office and the Decatur City Police Department is no longer in effect; and WHEREAS,the City of Decatur Police and the Macon County Sheriff's Office have negotiated a contract that would provide professional 24/7 communications services to all Government Law Enforcement Agencies inside Macon County and Fire Protection Districts in and around Macon County; and WHEREAS,the cost for these services would be$350,000 per year from January 2016 through December 31", 2019, and for this year March 15a'2015 to December 31st 2015 being prorated in the amount of$260,000; and WHEREAS,this resolution is presented as an emergency for funding requiring an increase in appropriation to the FY 2015 budget line: 001-060-7260 $260,000 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Macon County Board that they hereby approve entering into a contract with the City of Decatur. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon the adoption thereof.
