SCHEDULE: A notice to proceed will be issued upon receiving the Illinois Jobs Now! funds <br /> from the State of Illinois. These funds are expected to be received by the end of July. The <br /> design process will take approximately 2 years to complete. The City will continue to seek <br /> funding for the north and south segments of the project to continue the design work, right-of-way <br /> purchase, and construction. <br /> BUDGET IMPLICATIONS: This project is funded with$2,006,014 from an Illinois Jobs <br /> Now! <br /> grant, with the balance, $150,585 coming from the City. The total Phase II design cost for <br /> the Brush College/Norfolk Southern bridge is $2,156,599. <br /> The City received a total Illinois Jobs Now! grant allocation of$3,460,200 specifically to be <br /> used on the improvements to Brush College Road. A total of$1,454,186 was spent on the <br /> preliminary Phase I Design leaving $2,006,014 to be used for final Phase II Design work and <br /> construction plan preparation. <br /> City staff intends to delay authorizing a portion of the design work until the end of the project as <br /> additional funding is sought. Allocation of Motor Fuel Tax funding will be proposed in a future <br /> budget to cover the City's portion if additional funding cannot be secured. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Matt Newell, City <br /> Engineer.
