SCHEDULE: A notice to proceed will be issued upon receiving the Illinois Jobs Now! funds
from the State of Illinois. These funds are expected to be received by the end of July. The
design process will take approximately 2 years to complete. The City will continue to seek
funding for the north and south segments of the project to continue the design work, right-of-way
purchase, and construction.
BUDGET IMPLICATIONS: This project is funded with$2,006,014 from an Illinois Jobs
Now!
grant, with the balance, $150,585 coming from the City. The total Phase II design cost for
the Brush College/Norfolk Southern bridge is $2,156,599.
The City received a total Illinois Jobs Now! grant allocation of$3,460,200 specifically to be
used on the improvements to Brush College Road. A total of$1,454,186 was spent on the
preliminary Phase I Design leaving $2,006,014 to be used for final Phase II Design work and
construction plan preparation.
City staff intends to delay authorizing a portion of the design work until the end of the project as
additional funding is sought.
