SCHEDULE: The project is scheduled for the State's September 19 project letting with an <br /> expected award to occur within 45 days. It is anticipated that work will begin late this year with a <br /> final completion in late 2016. The project will resurface each of the bridges with one bridge being <br /> closed at a time and one lane of traffic in each direction routed to the open bridge. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Illinois Department of Transportation <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, Keith Alexander, Director of <br /> Water Management, and Matt Newell, City Engineer. Keith Alexander will be in attendance at the <br /> City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Funding for the proposed project will be available in the Water Lake Capital <br /> Fund. The agreement is for$420,000 with provision that the Council will appropriate additional <br /> funds if needed to cover the City's portion of the project. The City's obligation will be in three <br /> payments. The initial payment will be 50%of the project costs to be due after January 1, 2015. <br /> The second and third payments will be 25% each to be due after January 1, 2016 and January 1, <br /> 2017 respectively. <br /> Staffing Impact: The Illinois Department of Transportation will manage this project. There will <br /> be limited City staff involvement. The project is planned for a September 19, 2014 State letting <br /> with construction beginning late 2014. <br /> This memorandum was prepared by Matthew C. Newell P.E.
